# AI Credits

Credits are what AI work is charged in. Using the dashboard is free; only AI doing work costs anything.

## Two buckets, and they behave differently

Plan credits are spent first on purpose: they are the ones with an expiry date, so spending them first is what stops them going to waste.

## Top-up lots

Buy separately when you run out mid-month, or if you are on the free trial. **These never expire.** Small (250), Medium (500), Large (1,500), Bulk (5,000).

Estimates, not a price list. Long conversations, repeated revisions and big pages use more. A one-word change is free or nearly.

## What is always free

- Reading anything — previews, enquiries, visits, invoices
- Deploying, taking a site down, connecting a domain
- Downloading your code (paid plans, but no credits)
- **Everything an AI assistant does through a connector** — see [Using Laabam.site from ChatGPT](/guide/mcp)

That last one is the big one. When ChatGPT writes a site and uploads it, **no Laabam.site credits are spent**, because no Laabam.site agent ran. You already paid OpenAI for that work.

## Credit history

Every grant, build and refund, with what it was for. If a number looks wrong, this page is where the answer is — and if it still looks wrong, send us the row.

## Running out

Builds stop. Your website stays up, your enquiries keep arriving, your dashboard keeps working. Top up, or wait for your plan to renew.

Worth topping up **before** starting a big build rather than during one.

## Refunds

A build that fails through our fault is refunded automatically, and the refund appears in your credit history. You do not need to ask.
